Scouts from the Girl Scouts Heart of Central California Council came together from across the Sacramento region in January to learn what it takes to be a comic-book artist.
The workshop was offered by the Heroic Girls Foundation who partnered with professional comics artist Justin Greenwood (Stumptown, The Fuse), and Ben Schwartz, the owner of Empire’s Comics Vault in Sacramento.
The scouts learned that they can tell any kind of story they want in comics, how comics function on the page and the importance of representation both on the page and in the creation of the media we consume.
